Wednesday, November 7th, 2012

Words do matter. I applaud Gov Mitt Romney for giving a solid concession speech. Hope people of all stripes will now think about words of recovery, reconstruction, and reconciliation as America moves forward.

Tip of the Day: Find a way to work orange into your wardrobe this holiday. It communicates confidence, daring, and fun.

Tip of the Day: Silence

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

Tip of the Day: Grammar

Monday, November 28th, 2011

I’ve been hearing a lot of people say: “I had ran,” or, “I had ran that last year.”

This hurts my ears and is grammatically incorrect. Realize that your use of language is part of your communication tool box. When you’re on, you position yourself to WOW! When you’re off, you may lose key business or it may never even be a possibility for you.

Scary Shakes

Monday, October 31st, 2011

This Halloween, I hope you’ll take a moment to assess how you shake hands. This important communication device can be a make or break moment. Don’t let it be your breaking point. Figure out if your handshake is sweet as pumpkin pie or scary as the darkest dungeon.

Avoid the scares for women: Deliver a handshake that is firm and communicates intent.

Avoid the scares for men: Deliver a firm handshake but not one that crushes someone’s hand. Whether your receiver is a person with a softer touch than you, has arthritis, or doesn’t want to be mashed in between your heavy shake and all those rings you’re wearing, you should shake with finesse.

Here’s to your WOW! May you find many treats and few tricks this Halloween and beyond.
