It was with mixed emotions that I listened to my friend Roxana Saberi share her story of imprisonment in Iran during the first part of 2009. She talked of solitary confinement, of mental torture, of the general lack of freedom caused by imprisonment.
But Roxana also poignantly wove into this true story of anguish fine details about the human spirit, friendship, and heroism. I look forward to reading her book and hope you seek out a city in which she speaks next to see and hear her. I am very proud of this journalist and friend who truly showcases how the human story is far more similar than it is different among peoples of varying lands. www.roxanasaberi.com
